9 activity tips for wintry Pitztal

Unmissable experiences with us

Would you like to know what great activities await you here in winter?

Let’s dive right in: idyllic Pitztal is full of active experiences for pleasure seekers and sports fans. Whether you prefer gentle winter hikes and cross-country skiing tours, adrenalin-fuelled ski tours, or days of carving through the snow-guaranteed heights – in Pitztal, you will find your own winter paradise. We have compiled a list of all the winter activities you can try out here.

  • Skiing bliss on 96 kilometres of pistes with guaranteed natural snow from December to April
  • Scenic winter fun: take the Wildspitz cable car up to the Brunnenkogel at 3,440 metres above sea level
  • Skiing, snowboarding, or freestyling in Pitztal
  • A six-kilometre-long toboggan run at 2,000 metres above sea level
  • Winter and snowshoe hikes through the Pitztal forest
  • Ski tours through fresh powder snow to places with great views
  • Ice climbing in the icy Taschach gorge
  • 70 kilometres of trails across Pitztal, including a high-altitude trail at 2,760 metres above sea level
  • Last but not least: making snow angels and building snowmen (and snowwomen) – bring back the childhood memories!

In addition to these winter activities, all within striking distance of the Sportalm, the town of Plangeross is transformed into a sparkling pre-Christmas paradise every year. The Pitztal Mountain Advent Market brings the Christmas spirit to life. This small but beautiful Advent market at the small St Mary’s Church sets the scene for romance. Here, you can sample delicious “Kiachl’n” (a fried pastry) and warming mulled wine while you watch a new window open every day. The torchlit hikes, which take place regularly and lead from the Knusperhäuschen in the village centre to the Waldandacht, are also particularly atmospheric. On the way, you will be entertained by Reini’s stories of days gone by. We will be happy to provide you with even more ideas for your winter holiday – our mountain expert, Grandpa Sepp, has many more insider tips in store!
