Route: Via Claudia at Lake Weißensee – descent on the Römerstraße (Roman road) Imst-Pitztal loop

Highlights and stages of the bike route:
- Kilometre 20.9
You’ll reach Fernsteinsee Castle via the ancient Roman road, the Via Claudia Augusta. The castle was once a favourite retreat of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. - Kilometre 30.4
A glimpse of turquoise through the trees reveals Lake Weißensee. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, stretch out, breathe deeply, and dip your toes into the water. - Kilometre 49.8
Following a steep ascent over the Fern Pass, you’ll be rewarded with a descent like none other: along a reconstructed Roman wooden footbridge, hugging rock faces and weaving through treetops. - Kilometre 62
Your legs may feel the effort but the sweeping views of the Gurgeltal valley and its majestic mountain panorama invite you to slow down and simply enjoy the downhill ride. - Kilometre 71.4
The final stretch takes you along the Bigerweg cycle path, through lush meadows and picturesque scenery. At last, you arrive at the Imst-Pitztal railway station, the end of your cycling adventure and the beginning of well-earned rest.
