Road bike, mountain bike, or e-bike?

Pitztal offers trails for every type of bike!

If biking is your passion, gear up for thrilling adventures! We’ve put together some essential tips for every type of cyclist.

Pitztal is a paradise for passionate cyclists. It features everything from casual, scenic rides to demanding trails – for road bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes alike. We highlight the most popular tours across diverse terrains.

Road bike tours: For those who prefer a smooth glide over paved surfaces, the road bike is your ideal companion. Its narrow tyres, aerodynamic frame, and straight handlebars combine lightness with elegance, ensuring speed and efficiency.
A particularly rewarding road bike tour is the ascent to Pillerhöhe and the Kaunertal glacier, which reaches an impressive 3,000 metres above sea level over 133.4 kilometres.

Mountain or gravel bikes: Perfect for adventurers looking to avoid traffic and immerse themselves in nature. Whether navigating rocky single tracks or muddy paths, the grippy tyres and excellent suspension can handle it all.
Popular mountain bike tours include those to the Venetalm mountain hut and the Kreuzhoch (2,143 metres above sea level and 37.3km) or to the Augsburger mountain hut (1,319 metres above sea level and 95.9km). Those looking for a less physically demanding way to enjoy these scenic trails should consider using an e-mountain bike. These bikes are equipped with a small motor that assists with pedalling, enhancing both the enjoyment and the pace of the ride.

Recommended e-bike excursions include the route from Wildermieming to Pfunds (1,541 metres above sea level and 76.6km) or the shorter route from St. Leonhard to the Arzler Alm mountain hut (910 metres above sea level and 16.2km) and optionally onwards to the Tiefentalalm mountain hut.

Pitztal has so much to offer passionate cyclists and mountain bikers. After a long ride in the spring sunshine, the reward is soothing relaxation in the Nature Park SPA and a revitalising dinner that tantalises the senses.
